Hello, i am trying to figure out why i can't instal indexhibit, i have the same problem, when i put submit it says
XX Please check your config setting
but i've checked with my host and the database information that i'm using is correct. the thing is that when i download indexhibit, the CONFIG folder has an archive that is CONFIG.EXAMPLE.PHP, and my webhost said that i need CONFIG.PHP in that folder, but when i replace the archive it just says that i must erase CONFIG.PHP if i want to use indexhibit. when i returned the other way (with CONFIG.EXAMPLE.PHP) it says again XX Please check your config setting. How do i have to configure that???
You shouldn't have to do such thing. The file gets created during the installation.

Im have been talking with my host and trying to work it out. I just asked them to delete the tables from the database, in hopes of just reduing a fresh beginning. I shouldn't of made the mistake while uploading wordpress :facepalm:
Ive installed indexhibit many times for many people, and have found it uber simple. I recently set up a site for my friend at www.clairefalkenberg.com/2.0staging after setting up her my sql database. After some tinkering with the css a bit and getting it the way I liked it, the site seemed to crash somehow. When I went to it the page woudl be blank, and the pagename in the browserwindown would show up with some of the original names mixed with % and some other strange characters.
So I try to install a fresh copy of the code figuring I botched something up, and I cant install it because it wont take the my sql database info anymore. I check, i double check, im doubly triply sure i have the right info, nothing. I delete the directory, delete the database, start from scratch with new directories, and new database, and nothing. XX Please check your config settings again.
im pretty savy with this shite, but something funny is going on, you think with the sql database? its a tiny hosting company.
I had exactly the same problem and the reason of it was quite silly: I had created the database, i had created the username BUT I DID NOT ADD THE USER TO THE DATABASE. I simply haven't noticed it in the bottom of the site (I'm using hostmonster.com).
Maybe you made the same mistake?
