Hi!

I'm counting on teaching a class using Indexhibit and I was wondering when the new version of Indexhibit was coming?

I'm also really happy with the announcement of a new version, proving Indexhibit will stay alive! I was seriously doubting to keep using Indexhibit in teaching my students to maintain a portfolio site. So I'll start with Indexhibit again next Tuesday.
I'm teaching at >>> http://mamaastricht.eu/ and http://www.janvaneyck.nl/
Vaska, thanks a lot for the good work.

Great to hear from you neknerf - feel free to get in touch with Eatock and myself with any thoughts about how Indexhibit can be better at the schools.

We do need to improve our communications about the project. But, if you have been checking the forum over the years I have always been involved. We've been working on the update (which will be a big upgrade) for some time now. ;)

just wondering. i just just set up my site with indexhibit and am thrilled with it, despite the couple of hickups i'm still having, but nothing major and just my familiarizing myself with all etc...
just read about this upgrade. will that affect current sites? will we have to re-do everything or how does that work?
thanks much,
inka

I'd also like to know if current user will have to start from scratch when installing the new version.
Excited for the upgrade.

I am soo looking forward more to know when it s gonna be rather than how it s going to be like coz I am about to build my new portfolio and if new one will be delivered in 3 months I ll use current version. Anybody can say 1 month or more or around 1 month?
thanks

I'm really looking forward to the next version. I already thought this project would be dead. I've only two questions:

1. Are the old plugins still working on the next version of Indexhibit?

2. Will it be possible to help developing Inedxhibit on Github? Because this would be perfect and the developing would probably speed up.

Thanks.

Not dead - if only people know how much work I've put into all of this...it's never been close to dead.

1. Yes. But, there may be exceptions.
2. We likely won't use Github but something else.

@Vaska: Just wanted to say that Denmark is also eagerly waiting for your new version :-)

...and a place on the site with thems, maybe even paid "premium themes", would also be a hit. There are so many great sites out there running on exhibit, but it is not always easy to get the same great look, if you are are code-noob :-)

Cheers,

Kim Linnet

sitting and waiting for the upgrade, I was just wondering: I installed indexhibit few months ago. I see "IndexhibitTM v0.70d" in my main edit page, but in the download section of indexhibit.org you have the "Indexhibit CMS v0.70e". Both relased in 2008.

It's Just a typo in the code, I'm right?

As I understand it, the e-version is the same as the d-version, with just some minor fixes that don't affect the inner workings

I asked because the e-version is dated "may 2008" and I've downloaded my version just few months ago (in the 2011). But I noticed just this week the difference between what is reported on my installed version and the indexhibit.org's download page

Any launch date mentioned yet? Also – will current versions be easily update-able? I've just started mine, and wondering if I should hold off.

Note: I do have a link to ndxz on my site (whoisbenjamin.com) but as of right now I have it password protected through the development stage. My main site (whoisbenjam.in) was hand coded. Looking forward to using this lightweight CMS & to struggle with PHP.

I hope the main page visual is a reference to bells and whistles, as in "...with lots of bells and whistles." Regardless, it's sure to be good. I'm a photographer & thank all the developers for making this happen. Molto gracie... from Austin, Texas....

My studio's main portal runs on indexhibit. We've put the site update on hold until the new indexhibit is released. As a contributing member we'll be happy to do any beta test if you need. Hopefully the new version will be released soon!
