Index link in iFrame

caferoyalbooks / 2012-05-31 12:54:08

I am trying to add a link to the index and want to use the iframe feature - it doesn't seem to work? Open in a new window works ok, but iframe just pulls up a blank screen when the link is clicked.

craigatkinson.co.uk/

Vaska A / 2012-05-31 13:09:25

Which page specifically...

caferoyalbooks / 2012-05-31 13:10:31

craigatkinson.co.uk/index.php/photographs/daily-photograph/ - set up using index link / use iframe

Vaska A / 2012-05-31 13:12:42

I don't see that it's enabled on that page at all.

You have far too much text in your meta description - it might even be killing some javascript too.

caferoyalbooks / 2012-05-31 13:16:00

I just added that this second, will remove. It should be enabled, just re-enabled to make sure, just doesn't seem to have any effect.

caferoyalbooks / 2012-05-31 13:20:12

Here's a screen shot of what I see, just to make sure it's done correctly craigatkinson.co.uk/files/gimgs/…

Vaska A / 2012-05-31 13:23:38

Why can't you simply link me to the page that has the iframed place on it? This is all I'm asking for...

caferoyalbooks / 2012-05-31 13:27:18

I did that, craigatkinson.co.uk/index.php/photographs/daily-photograph/. I assumed the 'use iframe' option would automatically place the iframe on the page using the link I entered. Should I be placing the iframe code myself? If so what is the 'use iframe' function for?

sthakur / 2012-05-31 14:44:47

have the same problem on my end.
trying to link to tumblr and have it open in the iframe instead of a new window

for reference : sonnythakur.com/…

sthakur / 2012-05-31 15:03:31

tested it out now and it works only if you open in new window
iframe doesn't seem to be working on my end too

caferoyalbooks / 2012-05-31 15:08:08

yes Tumblr is mine too - maybe that's the problem?

Vaska A / 2012-05-31 15:09:15

Hold on for the moment...I'll look at this in a bit...

Vaska A / 2012-05-31 15:17:25

I see the problem - I'll have a fix for everybody in 30 mins...

Vaska A / 2012-05-31 15:31:57

Here is the quick fix - I'll release an update tomorrow dealing with some early issues.

Download this files and replace at:

/ndxzstudio/module/exhibits/index.php

And then, create a new index link and see how it goes - it will work.

;)

Awesome.
This probably sounds counterintuitive, but is it possible to have an index link "hidden from index"? I'm looking to have a link in a div outside of the index that links to an exhibit with an iframed page.

caferoyalbooks / 2012-05-31 16:41:46

Thanks Vaska. It does work, just need to make the iframe fit the exhibit area now.

Vaska A / 2012-05-31 16:41:59

We could probably add that...but not today. ;)

caferoyalbooks / 2012-05-31 16:43:26

infact Firefox works fine, Chrome makes a tiny iframe in the top left.
craigatkinson.co.uk/index.php/photographs/daily-photograph/

Vaska A / 2012-05-31 16:45:00

Hurray for new browsers that don't work with ultra simple Jquery! My goodness...

Thanks for pointing it out.

sthakur / 2012-06-01 01:12:47

Mine still wont work for some reason
I've replaced the index.php file already and logged in and out of ndxzstudio and all

maybe cause my exhibit link is from the root ie. yoursite.com/blog instead of yoursite.com/blog/blog? does this have anything to do with it?

sthakur / 2012-06-01 01:20:35

refreshed a couple times and now it works.
this always happens to me and i end up sounding like an idiot

7 / 2012-06-01 12:46:40

Is it still possible to manually call the iframe for now? I tried with

  1. <iframe src="website.com"></…
7 / 2012-06-01 12:47:45

ha did something wrong there. So yeah that code works, although it doesn't size the iframe.

Vaska A / 2012-06-01 13:38:11

Yeah, I looked at what you input there and I can't figure out what you did. Did you stutter as you pushed the button? ;)

7 / 2012-06-01 14:22:26

I blame multitasking, I should stop holding a paintbrush whilst typing I think ;) I'll try again,

  1. <iframe src="website"></iframe>

Still having some trouble embedding my blog using Iframe. I created an index link that calls my tumblr blog. When clicked, nothing appears.

I downloaded the file linked above a couple of posts called "exhibits.index.php" and uploaded it to the /ndxzstudio/module/exhibits/index.php. Am i supposed to rename the "exhibits.index.php" file to "index.php". Replacing the old "index.php" file. ? When I do this, i get errors when trying to log in/out ndxzstudio.

I currently have the original index.php file and just have the file "exhibits.index.php" in that folder.

It wasn't working either way. Seems simple, I must just be missing something??!! Heylp :) :) Thanks!

Here's the page because-co.com/index.php/project/tumblr/

Hello brookeberger

It seems you solved the blog problem :-)

Care to share the solution or how you "cracked" the case ?

Thanks

ianazariah / 2012-10-26 01:07:43

my Iframe still seems to be displaying as a small cube in the corner for my "blog portion"

Closing this thread because it's done. It's getting confusing now...
