All solved ! I've managed playing with Dreamweaver and then copying the html code in the pre-nav.
If somebody has the same problem just copy this code after the route of your image:
border="0"
Example:
img src='http://angelordax.webcindario.com/files/gimgs/logo.jpg' width='200' height='200' border="0" /></a>

I have been reading forums about putting image above menu bar, but can't seem to get it right. A blank box shows up with a question mark. I checked to make sure I was typing in the correct path, but I am starting to think it is incorrect. Below is what I have typed in the Pre-Nav main text...why is the image not appearing?
/public_html/images/michael_irwin.png is what I put in for the image source

Because this:
ftp://ftp.hd-pf.com/www/ndxz-studio/site/img/flocon%20pour%20le%20site.gif
is not your image url. It obviously has to start with http://...
...and avoid spaces in between filnames, a web basics rule.
Use - or _ if you want filenames to be readable (or legible - which is proper english?)

Change "newlittlepic.jpg" to the name of your file.
You can also change the size.

you've hardcoded the path to the image, which is correct while you're in your homepage, but obviously cannot be the same when you're in any other subdirectory of your website...
Well, i've only put the link in the "pre-nav text" box, as its said in this topic... so, i'm still not sure to understand the problem...
huh, sorry I misunderstood, you're right it's weird...
Appearently I don't see a reason why the image should show only in the main page. You might try writing an absolute path to the image (e.g. http://www.your_site/images/your_image) and see if it works...

@ale - wrong?? I don't know... you said you don't find the pre-nav area and I told you where to find it, both in english and italian... to put the image there you only need to type some html in it.
