Responsive Design

Indexhibit is nice, but if I check the default layout on an iphone, the menu is too small to navigate, without zooming in. which is the best way, to add a responsive menu, or resizable images, when the browser window gets smaller?
what is the best way to solve this issue?
I thought of using foundation 3 from zurb, but maybe there would be a more elegant indexhibit solution? any suggestions?

We don't have a solution today, but we're working on it.

Not to use the menu side of the page at all, create your own in the #exhibit if you want it workable for smart phones.

But then you need to customize a lot.

I would really like to hear what people think on this. Feel free to get in touch with me via email if you want too...

Just my two cents on this: I guess it would be nice to have an additional basic theme with horizontal navigation. This could be a good starting point even for less skilled people to build their customization upon. And I could imagine, that there would be more varying page layouts in succession. That said, I myself generally prefer the menu on the left side. But taking this whole mobile shebang in account, it's certainly something one should think about.

Maybe my comment above was a bit off topic, because this thread is about responsive layout. This, of course, would be great, too, as an option. Although I'm pretty sure, that it is not an easy task to implement this in a foolproof way…

i think indexhibit should definitely add some more basic settings for a responsive menu. An extra exhibition format (based on the "no thumbs" format) with responsive scalable images would be like christmas! :-)

What we have is much more extensive than that. ;)

I would love there to be a responsive layout for Indexhibit.
And the sooner the better!
:-)
Perhaps something like Path, where the menu is revealed with a swipe to the side?

Ooo – I hope that "the sooner the better!" didn't sound too impatient or demanding.
It really wasn't meant that way.

Mobile compatibility = important.

Yes, it is. But, for the moment, we have even more important stability issues to deal with. It's coming...
