I run localhost on my win vista machine with latest version xampp running.
i copied the indexibit files in the htdocs dir, started Apache/MySQL services. I took off "read only" option from the files needed.
But I cannot pass the "choose language" page...
What's the problem?... The fact i try to install it under Vista?...
Will not work on anything MS...

If there is, you will need to fix it by yourself. It would not be a fix to indexhibit, but a proper support of the AMP (Apache, MySQL, PHP) stack on windows... For now, windows web services are based on something else than Apache and PHP support wasn't quite alright from what I heard.
I've seen Microsoft release some new things to improve PHP in the last few months... maybe this could be some kind of "door" to a viable solution. I personally haven't checked it.
If you ever explore this avenue and get positive results, let us know.
