customizing slideshow

cluga / 2012-11-11 12:53:35

hi. i've been looking for some topics in the forum related to the slideshow, but haven't found the answer to my question: is there any possibility to combine two exhibit formats? I would like to do the following:
show my pics as thumbnails in the exhibit (displayed with "visual index") and then when clicking on one of them turn on the slideshow modus but with the thumbnails still visible on the back (white faded). In the elder indexhibit version, called thickbox.
thanks for any feedback!

another good option would be:
visual index of thumbnails > click on thumbnail > slideshow modus (having the possibility in the slideshow navigation to turn back to the thumbnails).
thanks a lot for your help!

You can do that using Visual Index with permalinks.

Hello

Click Edit in the exhibit of your preference.
Click Exhibit Options and choose Visual Index in the Exhibit Format drop down menu.
Click overlay as the On-click option.
That's all!

hello. thanks, but what i would like is the small slideshow modus (i installed the plugin) in the exhibit, not the full screen modus with overlay.
> small screen modus in combination with the thumbnails (visual index).

There is a beta of Slideshow around this forum that does that.

cluga / 2012-11-13 13:15:58

hi vaska, but not the one you posted right?

arsondpi / 2012-11-13 15:31:54

It is the one Vaska posted. It's a beta version.

cluga / 2012-11-13 20:54:48

i already have this beta version of vaska. but my question is how to combine it to the thumbnails, like this example i found:
sonnythakur.com/portraits/

arsondpi / 2012-11-13 20:57:56

The example you posted is what I suggested above.
If you're looking for a slideshow with thumbnails then you need to wait a bit - Vaska is working on it... ;-)

cluga / 2012-11-13 22:29:48

hi arsondpi, thanks for your support... :)
the slideshow in this example isnt the overlay of the visual index, which yo suggested above... (the overlay is full screen), i like this one which is smaller and you've got the navigation to go back to the thumbnails...

arsondpi / 2012-11-14 07:43:30

oops - my mistake. It is the Visual Index with Permalinks as the on click option.

cluga / 2012-11-14 08:36:28

yep, permalinks. but thats my problem, as im quite new to this... could you please shortly explain how they work? thanks in adance arsondpi!

arsondpi / 2012-11-14 09:42:46

Simply choose Visual Index as your Exhibit Format and then select Permalinks as the on-click option.
There's nothing more to it...

cluga / 2012-11-14 10:23:33

i've tried this out, but when i click on the picture it opens a "page not found", what do i have to do?

arsondpi / 2012-11-14 11:41:58

Have you enabled clean urls? What's your site address?

cluga / 2012-11-14 12:47:08

good news arsondpi, the permalinks are now working! i dont know what happened, i didnt change anything and before i had this "Page not found" message. this would be the site, claudineiselin.com, for now, just one link is active... in case it happens again, where exactly can i enable clean urls?

cluga / 2012-11-14 12:47:35
