Almost. We were discussing final details on it today. This week!
Uh perfect! I cannot wait! ^^ Very happy to hear about it!
Working on it right now...
:)
Hey Vaska, Should I keep and eye on this thread for the release?
How is going the conversion?....
Guys - it's nearly finished. Once it's released you'll see it (just like you've seen the Slideshow plugin getting it's second beta up to this point)
Just hold on -
:-)
What's "nearly finished" mean? I'm so excited I just can't hide it. It's like Christmas.
If I release it now, with the couple of really bad bugs it has, people will be upset.
I'm going to sit here an stare at you through the internets with that grumpy cat meme -look 'til it's done.
I love grumpy cats!
Ok, here it is...problems and messiness and all. This is at it is for the moment - you can do the following things with it:
- try it - maybe you will like it
- tell us of bugs/problems you see
- help resolve bugs
- moral support and high fives
It works really well with Indexpand menus but it's probably best to use a transition speed of zero. Also, the #index has a fixed height which you can adjust - the problem has always been that it's possible for the menus to extend too far and that is also a limitation.
PS: Columner was created by Mathieu - all credit goes to him. When we do this release officially I'll make sure to do all the proper credits and links to him. ;)
Good stuff, works well on first glance.
What would be the simplest way using CSS to center the exhibit area? I got fairly good results setting auto-margins on the sides and setting a certain width, but I doubt it's the best solution...?
Thank you for this theme and your time!
immoral support and high five from my end!
:-P
Immortal support ;)
It's coming…
Just tried it and it works great!
Is there a way to float this into the center?
Also, if you check my site right now: raulaltosaar.com the horizontal menu looks unordered because the titles are more than one word so they are forced together. Do I have to have smaller titles or can I change this?
in your style.css (Admin/Assets/Theme, style.css) find the folllowing css selectors and change them into:
#index ul.section {
margin: 0 10px 2px 0;
}
#index ul {
float: left;
list-style-type: none;
margin: 0 10px 2px 0;
overflow: visible;
width: auto;
}
#index .container {
padding: 25px 0 0 20px;
}
but this thread is for the Columner theme and not customizations of it.
As Vaska mentioned above:
- try it - maybe you will like it
- tell us of bugs/problems you see
- help resolve bugs
- moral support and high fives
;-)
I'd like to try the format but not sure where to install the files...
Put them in /ndxzsite/ and then choose the format in Admin > Theme.
ok one bug/problem seems to be that sometimes when switching between exhibits the padding between the menu titles changes. Sometimes it is bigger sometimes it is smaller.
Also how can I center the menu?
awesome. Just what i've been waiting for. Massive Thumbs up.
The Columner theme doesn't add all classes to the BODY tag like the Default theme does:
<body id="exhibit-{{id}}" class="section-{{section_id}}"> (Columner)
<body class='{{object}} section-{{section_id}} exhibit-{{id}} format-{{format}}'> (Default)
Yeah, we should do that - very easy to add them, as well.
Hey,
Columner theme looks great - but a couple of things, that may or not be bugs:
I cant add things like bold, italic and underlines to my exhibit texts, and could do before
and my bottom right post-nav scrolls with the page in one exhibit - tristanhutchinson.com/work/terroir-i--ii/
but not in another - tristanhutchinson.com/work/took-strength-to-tackle-those-hills/
Maybe i'm missing something, and I've changed the theme a little for a vertical menu, but really liking the theme....!
And one more thing - the website looks different in Firefox than Safari - with firefox, the exhibit text and img containers appear halfway down the page, another bug or is it something I am missing?
Thanks!
OK update - I can seem to make any changes to my exhibits. I have tried unpublishing them to see if they disappear from my website and it doesn't even do that.
tristanhutchinson.com
Any clues guys n girls?
Thanks.
Tris
I don't see the theme enabled in your site so it's hard to guess what could be wrong...
It is yeah, I just made some changes to it.
Hey guys,
Reuploaded and changed the Columner theme, tis great. Still left, though, with now way to change parts of my exhibit text to italics - I have used both the em and i tags, but no joy.
Website is tristanhutchinson.com - any help would be great!
Tris
apologies for above - i wrote that I have used both 'i' and 'i' tags for italics but no joy!
Thanks.

Is there a way to center the Columner theme?
HI I just downloaded the columner theme and i am wondering where to put these files on my ftp and what do they override?
