The way to solve that is via the hosting service. :)
If I remember well you need to edit the .htaccess file and add a rule like
ErrorDocument 404 /notfound.htmlwhere notfound.html (or even the url of an indexhibit page!) is the name of the error page.
Just search the web for stuff like this and then as Succubus mentioned, verify that it can be done with your host.
