1. What code needs to be changed if I would like to hide the index (left pane) while browsing?
2. If that's not possible, can it be changed to stay in a static position? The pane crowds over and interfere's with the exhibit when zooming in (especially on the iPad) and it would be great if they could each have their own frame to zoom in on..

Yes that is where I noticed it the most.
I changed background:#fff
to background: rgba (256,256,256,0.5)
and that helped but I guess I'm looking for a different solution.
If I am on a mobile device and want to zoom in to show a photo full screen, what would be the best way?
Right now I long hold and click 'view image'
