Variation on a Theme: Subdomain

Hallo again.
I'm trying to be clever and install a second version of indexhibit in a subdomain.
I've unzipped and uploaded a clean, fresh version of the indexhibit files.
I've made a new database.
I've uploaded the corresponding new config.php
I get a 404 because I haven't installed indexhibit yet. Everything looks good.

But, when I try to install through install.php, it tells me that I've already installed, which I haven't. I know, because the database is still completely empty, which it shouldn't be.

It doesn't seem likely that it's a PhP in subdomains thing, becuase the server automatically sets file permissions to 775 (instead of 777), and uses the latest versions of MySQL, &tc (which I take to mean that it's pretty snazzy and up to date).

I can send a query to my provider, but they're slow and annoying to deal with.

Ideas?

Ok - I think you got things mixed up.
Upload the files and folders and change the permissions/rename the htaccess file.
Do not upload "the corresponding new config.php"
Go to the Installation page and install normally.

I think that now it's going to work well.
