I'm at the point of setting up with the database.
I've made a database and a usename.

Everything currently looks like this:

Database Server Address: localhost
Database Name: artcandy_ediejomurray
Database Username: artcandy_ejm
Database Password: the password (is correct, have checked)
Database Append: ndxzbt_

I've also tried with a few variations eg using box940.bluehost.com as the server address

But still get the XX check config error.

I'm clearly doing something stupid wrong - can someone enlighten me? thank you

Hello!
Ask your host about this - indeed the issue is usually something simple.

Hi EdieJoMurray,

I'm sure I'm doing the same dumb thing but can't figure it out. Can you please share what you did to fix it?

Thank you!

peterik, have you confirmed your db connection info with your hosting control panel or your host?

i'm willing to get that edie's problem was that the db hostname was incorrect - or, the db user privileges were not set.

thanks, Vaska. it was the privileges issue for me. according to my hosting company, with the last update of MySQL there's a bug that results in the corresponding MySQL user having no privileges. fixed now!
