yanxing / 2014-01-16 08:49:04

I would love to know is there possibility upload the video (.mp4) on the website then display it on the page?

I mean not the youtube nor the vimeo, just pure like the picture....but moving image...
thanks:)

arsondpi / 2014-01-16 09:03:33

Yes - upload it like any other kind of media.
Make sure its exported with the web streaming option enabled as mp4 or mov

yanxing / 2014-01-16 12:00:57

I did, but if I use the slideshow there would have a gray small pic.....and it is no effect if I click it~

No, that's not true. After you upload any image or video you can add cover art to it - look in the interface where you add title and caption to images. It works with Slideshow if I remember correctly.

yanxing / 2014-01-17 07:24:31

Dear arsondpi,
I am not understand how I exported with the web streaming option enabled as mp4 or mov?

yanxing / 2014-01-17 07:43:32

It seems I have to creat a new page, I can not use the video together with the pictures which I used as the slideshow...

there have another question, how I change the player?

arsondpi / 2014-01-17 08:02:38

yanxing you need to atach a cover image as Vaska suggested.
Click on the tools icon of your movie and click the attach cover link.
You can then upload an image that will work as a clickable start cover for your movie.

I can't explain how to prepare your movie as you maybe using a different kind of software/version etc. You need to search the web for this, as there are plenty of step-by-step tutorials on doing things.
Having said this in this page of yours: yan-xing.com/works/arty-super-arty-video/ the video seems to be working fine (if I click on in) so you just need to upload a cover image as described above.

yanxing / 2014-01-17 11:27:28

I mean, if the page use the slideshow, and both have pictures and videos, it seems only can working for the pictures, the video is not working if I click,,,you can try, thankS:)

yanxing / 2014-01-17 11:29:16

it's very strange, look, now if I ordered the pictures (the cover) in the front, then you can see the video, but I'm in click the second one, then I can not click the first one no longer more...

yanxing / 2014-01-17 11:30:11

it seems I can not click the cover of the video...

yanxing / 2014-01-17 11:50:17

yan-xing.com/temp/…

and I edited the captions and titles, but it's not appear at my exhibit page....

yan-xing.com/works/arty-super-arty-video/

I use the slideshow, now the problem it's not working with the still at the same page~~~

yanxing / 2014-01-17 17:30:42

my problem is if I use the slideshow for both image and video, and I can not click the video.....it seems not allow me click....

yanxing / 2014-01-17 18:12:48

it is un clickable...

Vaska A / 2014-01-17 20:58:53

The thumbnails for Slideshow were definitely experimental - the format does need more work which is why it's been a beta (need to finish things).

But, it works for me...

Vaska A / 2014-01-17 21:01:11

And no you can't click the cover of the video - you need to be able to click the video to make it play/stop.

Vaska A / 2014-01-17 22:01:17

On wednesday, I'll sit down and try to finish this format - and at the least deal with these bugs.

Vaska A / 2014-01-17 23:51:00

You don't have FlashBlock or something similar enabled do you?

yanxing / 2014-01-18 04:50:34

The first one is the video (but the title and caption can not presents), if u click to the second thumbnails (it's just a picture) then if you wanna click back to the first video, it is not clickable, please try, then u can understand what I'm saying, thanks dear:)

yanxing / 2014-01-18 04:58:25

And if I use the vimeo plugin, it's gonna be have the title and captions line...

yanxing / 2014-01-18 05:00:10

And there also have a conflict, if we use video in slideshow, because in general we click the pictures to the "next one", but in the video case, if we click the video, it means "play/stop"

yanxing / 2014-01-18 05:02:02

Dear Vaska, no , I don't have any flash block, I can see the video when I enter the page(because the video at the first front ), but if I click others then I no longer to click back, it's quite strange.

arsondpi / 2014-01-18 10:03:59

Well as Vaska already mentioned this format is still a beta and things will be corrected in the upcoming version of the Slideshow format.

yanxing / 2014-01-18 14:37:57

Ok, is there have some alternative way can solve this problem?

arsondpi / 2014-01-18 14:44:36

You need coding skills to solve this.
As Vaska mentioned above: "On wednesday, I'll sit down and try to finish this format - and at the least deal with these bugs."
So I suppose you can wait until Wednesday and *maybe* get an update with which you can work with. Otherwise you can use a different format - Visual Index with Permalinks as the on-click option for example.

Vaska A / 2014-01-18 16:45:34

I am not completely sure I can resolve your problem - it works perfectly for me on the exact same browser. On Wednesday I will work on the format though.

Never seen anybody yet have the problem you are having, as well.

Vaska A / 2014-03-27 10:09:48

The video played just fine for me...

yanxing / 2014-04-02 04:20:01
