I get so many "500 errors" from your page, there's something strange going on with your server.
Contact and tell your host about this.

thanks!
they didn't get back to me so far.. .

hello
they told me that images should never be put in the cgi-bin folder because they can't be opened from there.
Well I don't know so much about this since I'm doing all the uploading via indexhibit. When I check via cyberduck all images are in cgi-bin > files > gimgs. Where they've always been.. I guess
Hope you can help. Thanks !!

it always shows the same error.. concerning the images.. they told me
Exec format error: 1262559-exec /home/strato/http/power/rid/63/47/51916347/htdocs/cgi-bin/files/gimgs/1_0921_v3.jpg failed permanently

No idea why things are in cgi-bin. My guess is that your files are missing...

It worked for years (?) so what was changed? Code needs to be updated though - it's not going to work forever (servers are updated too).

ok thanks.. I have to look into this.. for a better understanding

one other question..
how is it possible that my indexhibit interface shows the same errors.. weird html looking and no images ??

thanks again

davidhanauer / 2014-04-01 11:04:44

and.. nothing was changed.
I was only working with the indexhibit interface the last 3 years. I can't really change things there

Vaska A / 2014-04-01 11:13:15

Things do change...servers get upgraded...code become deprecated and DOES need to be updated too. Three years is a long time on the internet especially where code is concerned. Indexhibit can only do so much - we don't control everything on your webhost (in fact we control very little).

I've never seen the problem you are having above with cgi - it doesn't even make sense to me why that would be happening...

thanks jeffery..!
I guess it could be the right time changing to CMS2 and start from scratch

Try restoring a backup first. And, if you don't have one...make sure you keep one in the future.

I don't like talking about webhosts much, but I have seen very random issues on that host over the years. They appear one day and disappear another. No kidding...

davidhanauer / 2014-04-01 13:18:37

ok. I keep both in mind for the future
thanks for your help. best wishes
