There is an "insert" link to the left side of the file management panel. Make sure that you put text between the a tags.

sorry, I'm not following... I've upload it with the uploader so it appears now as if it was an uploaded image. Once I click on the insert link on the panel it asks me about the site link, hyperlink or email which not sure what I have to do.

If it would be a hyperlink it would have to be uploaded on the ftp, right?

I was able to place the link by writing it directly, though I am not sure if it's ok, as I get an page with not found...

Yes, a hyperlink. No, not FTP (unless it's a really big file).

You can upload a pdf the same way you upload images to your site - via our system uploader.
