customize documenta

hello - i am wondering if i can make the documenta exhibit work a bit better. i have it running here: epiphyte-lab.com/news/ , but can't control the columns well - the last column running off into infinity, and the earlier columns breaking off too soon. is there a way to break the columns evenly? thank you.

Did you make changes to the documenta format?

I'm not sure what's going on, but are you using a CDN service for your images? Something is really odd here...

Because the code is generated you can set the places to break the columns manually.

I did not change anything in the source code at all...

i put the images directly into the text and then link them....very simple

Why did you do it that way?

So, everything, text and image were inserted into the text space?

documenta columns were working (or not working) the same way before I inserted the images. it didn't have any effect on that at all. i got the suggestion on how to do it from the forum. here is the link: indexhibit.org/forum/thread/19898/

Disable Indexpand, do Shift + browser refresh, and see if anything changes.

no change

Did you set the width of the .container to 600px?

Disable all of that assets concat stuff - it's impossible to deal with. I think that's the source of the problem...

Vaska A / 2014-07-29 21:16:05

Also, since you are inserting all of your images, add width and height to the image tags...

Vaska A / 2014-07-29 21:16:34

Aside from the above, I don't really know what else to do...

where do i set the width of the .container ? where is the documenta file located? thx!

It's in your style.css file. But, your asset concat service (pagespeed) is doing a bunch of things and I'm not really sure what's going on.

hi vaska - so how do i disable assets concat? i am out of my league here... i am not understanding why the number of columns will not go over 6, even if i set the counter higher. also - you mentioned earlier that i should be able to set the places to break the columns manually - where do you do that? should that be part of the 'exhibit options' ? thanks!

Vaska A / 2014-07-30 16:36:57

What? Who set that up for you (pagespeed)? It's not an Indexhibit thing...I don't know anything about it.

epilab / 2014-07-31 15:15:17

'asset concat' was not added / changed by any of us....not our doing...weird...any suggestions?

Vaska A / 2014-07-31 15:40:46

Remove whatever is doing that...I don't know what it is or how it got there. It is not an Indexhibit thing...
