My computer broke, and I recently bought a new one. The downloadable indexhibit folder was on my previous computer, which I backed up before the breakdown. I am trying to get onto ndxz studio to edit my site, but am unable to. Is this because I am without my original indexhibit files? What do I need to do to get everything working again?

This has been answered many times over they years here...
Indexhibit requires a database. If you decide to move your site to another server you MUST also export that data and migrate it to the new server. Otherwise, your data, with the exception of your images, is not moving, as well.
