install.php doesn't work

Hello!

Thanks for this great project, I hope to be using it very soon! But first I have some, maybe silly, questions:

When I direct my Firefox to my_site/studio/install.php the installation doesn't start. I only get the question to download the PHP file. Please see: users.fulladsl.be

Maybe my webspace doesn't support MySQL, if not can I install something or do I need a new webspace/webhost?

And a bit silly: do I need to FTP the full indexhibitv062 folder inclusive the __MacOSX folder or only the content of the indexhibitv062 folder in the indexhibitv062 folder? I'm working on Windows XP.

Thanks alot,
Karen

I can't see where you've uploaded the files - they aren't there. Perhaps you've uploaded them underneat the root (www) folder? Either way, the files (/studio folder) is clearly not there.

Are you sure that that host even has databases for you to use - it appears to be a generic account that you recieve when you sign up for your ISP (probably does not have extra features).

Indeed, I just got a reply from the webhost and they don't support MySQL, that would be the problem no :-/, sorry to bother.

Is this problem common for free webspace? This means I need to buy space?

What is the name of the free space provider in Belgium? I can't remember right now - I'll try to remember. It's associated with one of the universities if I remember correctly.

We're paying about 80/year for hosting...and it's a huge amount of space. I could tell you via email if you'd like.

We are talking about a hosting deal, but it will still be some time. ;)

Perhaps the instructions are misleading?

You MUST have a database installed and ready to go before you can install the tables.

Do you have a database setup yet?

Not sure at all what that means...working closely.

The installer is pretty simple stuff.

It's already installed. The server, from the way it's parsing your page, appears to not have a very up-to-date version of PHP.
