Hello.

I am having trouble uploading pictures.
The following warning comes up.

Warning: move_uploaded_file(/customersites/2/home/httpd/vhosts/lovelyprintsforsale.co.uk/httpdocs/files/gimgs//3_lovelyfaceflatweb.jpg) [function.move-uploaded-file]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /customersites/2/home/httpd/vhosts/lovelyprintsforsale.co.uk/httpdocs/ndxz-studio/module/exhibits/index.php on line 1392

I just want to be able to upload pictures and update my website really easily without hassle - what is the best way of doing this? Do I have to keep the files somewhere? Do I have to use my database? I am really not sure.

I have got a virtual hosting package with easily.co.uk

Can you please help?

Thanks, Erica.

Did you change the permissions of folders as requested in the installation instructions?

I managed to upload a picture before but just not sure what I am doing as it doesn't work now?
Do I need to ftp the pictures and use the database that I have or can I just use indexhibit?
I do not know how to use the database- I would like to just use indexhibit.

You didn't answer my question :)
When you installed indexhibit, are you sure you followed all the steps, in particular changing the permissions?

The how to install says:

"Find the gimgs folder within the files folders and change both folders permissions to 777
Inside the ndxz-studio folder change the config folder permissions as well to 777"

Make sure the permissions are as described (with your ftp application) for those folders. If it's already the case, keep us posted.

What I see...you've probably somehow deleted the index page for the site (you can't do that). I also don't see a template set specified in the path which means somehow the database is messed up.

You should just start over...delete out all the tables and reinstall from scratch.

Thank you.
I think I have re-installed but now the password is not working to get in.
I have tried index1/exhibit as it says but it is not working?
Also, I just put the files into fetch - I can get into my database but looks very confusing; do I need to use or can I just use fetch to upload photos when I finally get in?
Really appreciate your help. Thanks.

No, it doesn't work that way. You need to use the system to upload images.

You need to delete all the old tables before you can reinstall.

Hmmm sorry I am not sure what that means and how to do it?

I'm sorry, but the problems you are having are not because of Indexhibit. You are having issues with the complexity of ftp and your host.

For the record...everything is fine with the server. There was some odd stuff in the database that probably came from either a bad installation or an installation on top of another installation. But all was sorted out rather quickly.
