Hi there!

I'm new to indexhibit and I'm having trouble with the full browser background image. I followed the instructions by "arsondpi A" but I may have missed something.

Here's the link to my site: atelierguevara.com

The automatic resizeing won't work and it seems it also disables the iframed pluggin, which I'm using in the blog section for example. The iframed site appears in a tiny little window on the top-left of the screen.

Thanks a lot for you help.

did you upload a background image (not an image using the backgrounded format)?

Great... that was the problem. I uploaded the image in the wrong place. Compatibilities with iframed plugin also solved.

Thanks for your time arsondpi!

thanks as always to arsondpi and vaska ...

i was really banging my head against a wall until arsondpi's response a few posts up about the #menu background-color in the css file (obvious to someone more experienced, no doubt!)

could i suggest you could include a reference to this in the DO_ME_FIRST.html you have in your download? if you start the process by copying the basic sample/style.css then the conflict is there to begin with ... though i do realise that the download zip is a pretty generous thing you've put together in the first place!

(just because i post and i haven't mentioned the link before)

ups...

it seems it's not solved at all. Works perfectly on Firefox, but I still have the same problems on Safari: automatic resizeing doesn't work and iframed blog goes crazy!

My site is: http://www.atelierguevara.com

Any suggest?
Thanks a lot!

sorry, maybe I didn't explain so well...

I want the background image only to be in the main page. The rest of the pages will have a white background (not image).

Everything worked fine on firefox but not in safari. The problem was that when I installed the full_background pluggin for the main page, the iframed pluggin seemed not to be working in other pages of the web. Even if they didn't have a background to show. The iframed page appeared as a small tiny window on the top-left.

But I've just checked in a PC with safari and seems to be in perfect working order... I'll check it back at home.

Thanks a lot, anyway :)

Hi all,

new here so please bear with me. I'm not a code expert but what I need is pretty simple as well. I want to have a large image for the background of the main page.I wouldn't mind if it will be tiled.
something like the homepage on http://www.hibye.co.uk/ or http://www.esadmirablelabelleza.com/

I guess I need to alter Backgrounded to remove the tiny thumbnail. unfortunately looking at the code I had no idea how to do that.

little help?

thanks.

First of all,

Thanks for this, specially to Vaska, arsondpi and sawatzki.

I tried the solution made by arsondpi and it works fine, but I wanted the version made by sawatzki with random bg and only in the entrance page, but the links seem not to be working. Can you please fix it.

Thanks

Hi,

Definingform said earlier in this post that he would post the means to make a random full browser background. Does anyone know if this happened (I cant see it), and does anyone know is there any other version of it around?

Thanks

Hello

Even with all of the amazing support on here I have not been able to make this work on the following site: website

I've update jquery to 1.3.2, have uploaded the 2 plugins as instructed in 'do me first'. Though when I go to update the index.php files I cannot see a tag, only . I've guessed that I add the 2 lines of code beneath this tag?

I'm unsure as to where I load the image to (its the one currently on background for the home page - is this the right place?)

Also - I only see a fraction of the CSS code using firebug on my site compared to others - am I missing something?

Thank you in advance, and I'm looking forward to cracking this problem!

sorry... the second paragraph should say:

.... when I go to update the index.php files I cannot see a 'body' tag, only a tag saying 'body class ='section-'

- as I said before this week in another post, try out things, disassemble/assemble, brake them and start all over again.

I am also looking for a way to make a random full browser background - like sawatzki or definingform;
i.e. a full browser background with random pictures, but only on my main page.

Is there help somewhere?

Thanks!

You can send him an email as well or you can have a go with what's there and then post it here!

Hello everyone,
First and foremost thanks to the creator of the indexhibit. It's really easy and fun way to create your portfolio. On to the topic, I installed code according to the instruction but I'm seeing the scrollbar that I didn't see before. Also, I'd like to know how you set up the background image for the index page. I know for other sections, you could add background using the upload button but how do I go about it for the very first page (when you press my logo).. Here's url to my indexhibit site. Thanks!

Hello!!!!

...don't apply margins to #content or #menu.
Search the web and the forum with keywords "box model" and learn how it works.

You apply a background image in the main page the same way as you did in the other pages. If you don't know which is your main page then you have to go through your exhibits and find it - we can't know this...

Hi Arsondpi,

Thanks so much! I found the exhibit that applies to the main page. So now I am working my way to find out how to go about content properties. I wonder if there's quick and dirty way to solve this. Or do I need to create another div class that wraps content div to modify the positioning? Not so expert at css. Thanks!!

Hey all,

Can't figure out what I screwed up in the steps for the fullbackground.
For starters, my body seems to have duplicated itself?
And the bg resize doesn't seem to be working either.

Help would be awesome.

I took your advice "- as I said before this week in another post, try out things, disassemble/assemble, brake them and start all over again. " and (of course) it worked! Tiz the best way to learn....

It's onto the box model issue next to work that one out.

Indexhibit is such a brilliant way to develop knowledge of websites - thank you so much wonderful people!

  1. Hey all!
  2. <strong>Thank you so much</strong> for this forum and for all your great help. Thanks to you I've managed to face my code-fear and dive into it. And after lots of backs and forths, trials and errors, having to delete indexhibit all together and start over again... I've come this far: <a href=www.retusj.com">Retusj</a>

...But, I've read through the entire thread and gone back and forth and I still have the vertical scroll bar on the right side and a white bar on the bottom + my text is showing up in the white bar on the bottom and not on top of the background picture where I want it.

Someone else earlier had the exact same problem and I made all the same changes, but it still doesn't work.

Can someone see what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks a bunch!
