Our fine intern,Simon Lagneaux, has kicked out a new plugin called 'Slideshow'.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What does it do?

It allows users to use previous and next buttons to view images. It has a nice fade effect.

If a user chooses to customize the plugin more information can be found by the original creator of the effecthere.

How to install?

Download and add the plugin into your '/ndxz-studio/site/plugin' folder. Then you can select it from your Exhibition Formats.

You also must place the 'jquery.cycle.all.js' file into the '/ndxz-studio/site/js' folder for this to work.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Simon has made a demo page which can be found on his site at:demo.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It works for us!

"URL file-access is disabled in the server configuration in..."

That's one I've never seen before...I think your server won't let you use that one. I'll send you another attempt in a sec...

We took out the getimagesize() function...so it just uses the natural width and height of images. It's been updated and reuploaded.

Let us know how that works for y'all. ;)

Hey Simon - Thanks for the plugin

Quick question: Is there a way of adding more text in the image caption box. It only allows for about 7 word(ish) at present.

Hello,

I've downloaded and added the plugin into my '/ndxz-studio/site/plugin' folder. I've also placed the 'jquery.cycle.all file into my '/ndxz-studio/site/js' folder.

But I cannot seem to select the new format from my Exhibition Formats.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.

Hi Kevin:

Depending upon how you uploaded it...it might have some wonky permissions on the files. Check the permissions on the plugin itself and the js file. Set them both to 0755 and I bet this solves the problem.

Let us know.

I set them both to 0755 but still no joy I'm afraid. I still can't select the slideshow exhibition format.

You see this?

http://www.thisismakebelieve.co.uk/ndxz-studio/site/plugin/exhibit.slideshow.php

We see your site...which means the file is either here and has the wrong permissions or it is not there.

Check it again...it's not Indexhibit that is missing this (unless it's a permissions issue).

I just installed the new updated version and I can't see any of the plugins including slideshow. Not sure what's going on with it. I went into the plugins folder and everything seemed to be in the right places...

Hello.
If you're looking for the Iwakami plugin (click switch) then insert click switch in the searchbox on the left, or iwakami site:http://indexhibit.org/forum/ in a google search box and hit enter. There's lots of references for this.....

I think I understand…
How do you upload your picture ?
For using exhibition formats, you have to use the file downloader at the bottom of the white space, where you wrote text for your projects.

If you use the file uploader at the top of this space, you will just have pics over and over…

Hey all (i cant create a new thread so 'im posting this here)

i customized the sildeshow so that you can click on the image to go to next image, and to hide prev/next but keep 1/13 under the image using the height of it.

Here is the file
http://www.fbwn.net/indexhibit/plugin/exhibit.slideshow_click_image.php.zip

here is the example website
http://la-projects.com/test/index.php?/project/encore/

i'd like to customise my counter under the picture

http://la-projects.com/test/index.php?/project/encore/

something like 1/5, or to have it colored.

therefore id like to know where is the content of num span generated

  1. span id='num' >> outputs the counter

i looked at jquery.cycle.all.js and found this

  1. function donum(val)
  2. {
  3.     $('#num').html(val);
  4. };

jQuery's html() outputs a string, i can't find whre the val variable is generated, anyway i cant modify val

ideas welcome

thanks to all

anyway i can modify the output of this ?

thanks to all

it's in the plugin, there is a tiny bunch of code that you can style, looks like this (it's from a similar plugin, but the core should be the same)

  1. <span style='margin-left: 9px'>$i/$total</span>

hello,

it's not in the plugin
it's generated somwhere else

this is what is in the slideshow plugin

  1. $s .= "<p class='nav'><a id='prev' href='#'>Prev</a> | <a id='next' href='#'>Next</a><span id='num'></span></p>";

it must be generated somewhere else ...

got it, line 163 of jquery.cycle.all.js

  1. i changed
  2. donum(opts.nextSlide + 1 + '/' + els.length);
  3. to
  4. donum('<b>' + opts.nextSlide + 1 + '</b>/' + els.length);
  5. or
  6. donum('<b>' + opts.nextSlide + 1 + '</b>/' + els.length);

but it doesn't work it's not bold on the first pic and the second one does 31/8

here is the donum function which is a bit below

  1. function donum(val)
  2. {
  3.     $('#num').html(val);
  4. };

according to http://docs.jquery.com/Html it should work

i'll continue searching ...

yes, you're right, it's the 'num' which is probably called from a jquery file... however you could style the whole result ( 1/5 ) if you don't want to look through the whole file...

  1. wow weird when i do this in the JS file
  2. donum('<b>' + opts.nextSlide + 1 + '</b>/' + els.length );

it counts from 0 outputs it an then outputs 1

this is why it goes
01/8
11/8
21/8

...
