403 forbidden error

ermorden / 2009-08-05 21:44:01

Hello. I am attempting to implement this on my site, and unfortunately receive a 403 error. The error states "You don't have permission to access /ndxz-studio/ on this server." I am logged in to everything I can think of to be able to edit my site and have relogged in to FTP, indexhibit, my webhost control panel, and also kicked my computer. Unfortunately still receiving the error. I am very new to building web pages so I apologize if this answer is obvious (not to me!). Any help is welcome, thanks.

Everything is working fine for me...

Is your domain recently purchased?

ermorden / 2009-08-05 21:50:31

I purchased it over a month ago.

I'm just guessing here, but could it be that the username I have for indexhibit to edit my site isn't the same username I have for my 'database users' on my plesk control panel?

What error are you recieveing when going to Exhibits > Settings? A 403?

ermorden / 2009-08-05 22:01:07

When I attempt to save settings after changing the theme in the dropdown window, I get a 403 error.

Vaska A / 2009-08-05 22:07:15

Hmmm...something else is wrong there. I think you are having some DNS issues...it's beyond Indexhibit. More to do with your browser and maybe even your router (caching issues).

ermorden / 2009-08-05 22:26:44

any ideas how to troubleshoot it? I wouldn't even know who to call to check on my permissions. I am able to edit my page and see changes reflected under 'projects'>> piercetheplanet.

k then.

ermorden / 2009-08-06 07:27:54

I spent about an hour on the phone with a tech support guy from my hosting company. We went through all the files to check for permission problems that may not be allowing me to access /ndxz-studio/. If you could possibly help with what file I may need to change permission to allow me to access /ndxz-studio/ it may solve my issue. When I get the error the url string is http://www.piercetheplanet.com/ndxz-studio/?a=exhibits&q=settings. Trying to help myself fix this, anything more you can offer is welcome.

Also, I have followed all instructions on file permission changes from the installation guide.

I'm getting this error too when I try to change the settings on site.

picturesmusic / 2010-04-20 09:58:29

I'm getting the same problem, I'm yet to find a way to fix it - until then Indexhibit is unusable :(

picturesmusic / 2010-04-20 11:21:04

It's not a problem with the theme for me, because I can't even change to the sample theme from the eatock one.

When I try to create a new section, i get the same 403 error. I can, however, change the details of already existing sections, and create new exhibits within the,

Is it a permissions or SQL issue - its almost like I'm not allowed to create or edit things

arsondpi / 2010-04-20 13:30:38

what did your host say?

sean2020 / 2010-04-20 15:26:13

I'm also getting the same 403 error when trying to edit Exhibits > Settings

PMD / 2010-05-10 18:41:54

I attempted to add html to my post-nav section and ever since I receive the same error. Any ideas how to change or what files to revert so I can change things in my settings page again?

Vaska A / 2010-05-10 18:57:37

But the two are not related...putting code in post-nav has nothing to do with this error.

chameleonic / 2010-05-15 13:17:11

I'm also encountering this problem - just installed indexhibit for the first time and attempting to change the theme to customise a site and I'm getting a 403 error that seems to knock my server sideways for a few minutes. It's using a hosting company I've been using for years with lots of wordpress type builds on with no problem.
It is certainly this url that's upsetting it:
/ndxz-studio/?a=system

Anyone found any further fixes on this issue?

thanks

This is not an Indexhibit issue...talk to you host.

I'm closing this thread because this is being confused with something it is not.

This thread has been closed, thank you.
