what do i need to do? I've installed everything set permissions - or - so I thought. Now I get an error after the language page.

just replaced the .htaccess with a new one :o)

I deleted the .htaccess file. What do you mean: you replaced the .htaccess? With a new one? How?

It wouldn't matter either way.

I'm telling you...your database variables are not right. The problem is not htaccess.
