Hi

In your browser address field, did you write:

"your_site/ndxz-studio/install.php"

or

did you write:

??

twisted / 2007-12-12 15:43:06

i wrote
"www.lasavate.com/ndxz-studio/install.php"
but I got a
"404 not found
The requested URL /ndxz-studio/install.php was not found on this server.

I think you uploaded the files to the wrong place. They should go in a folder called 'www' or 'public_html' or 'htdocs' or something. We can't find the files...they aren't there yet.

twisted / 2007-12-16 19:33:56

the files were in the "www" section...
Now I have put them in the "public html" folder.
It still doesn't work.
Can you see the files?

Vaska A / 2007-12-17 02:04:05

No idea...ask your host to help you figure out where things should go.

jaz / 2008-11-17 22:58:26

hey...

it worked for me to input it like this:

"site_URL"/indexhibitv070e/ndxz-studio/

basically, I just input the "Indexhibit" folder name as a part of the path to reach the application file that your browser opens to login.

(website)>(indexhibit folder)>(indexhibit files)

jaz / 2008-11-17 23:01:48

of course the full one (for the install) was like this:

"site_URL"/indexhibitv070e/ndxz-studio/install.php

arsondpi / 2008-11-18 07:53:00

...upload the contents of the indexhibit folder...
It seems you have moved the contents on the root directory - I can see the choose your language page.

hello, i seem to have right the same problem.

paucc A / 2009-02-19 19:58:18

Hi ux,
can you look what else is on the public_html files?
Is there a .htaccess file? (tell cyberduck to show the hidden files on the server)
There's a index.html file either?

Maybe your hast haven't changed the DNS to point to your ftp space.

wait for your answer

Hello all.

I have followed the procedure and typed on my browser

www.dingmao.co.uk/ndxz-studio/install.php

All I get is a page full of codes like:

Dingmao / 2009-03-31 21:20:14

use code tags...

Dingmao / 2009-03-31 21:21:37

use code tags...

Vaska A / 2009-03-31 21:38:08

But this means that your server doesnt' have PHP or it's not working - tell your webhost.

Dingmao / 2009-03-31 21:40:41

I have a leopard 10.5.6

doesnt that have a PHP already installed?

Vaska A / 2009-03-31 21:49:02

You are installing this on your own machine?

We really can't support this...you need to know what you are doing to make that happen. There are simply way too many things to deal with...

Dingmao / 2009-03-31 21:57:42

My computer is a Macbook version Leopard

Ive followed all the procedures like downloaded cyberduck and followed the root on public_html and changed the 3 folders into 777.

All i have to do is to type my domain into my browser:

http://www.dingmao.co.uk/ndxz-studio/install.php

After this all i get is codes like:

php define ('site', bonjour!');
installation
// turn this on if you want to check things
    //error_reporting(E_ALL);

    require_once 'defaults.php';
    require_once 'common.php';

and etc...How can I get this fixed? step by step?

Dingmao / 2009-03-31 22:05:02

I just found on a forum that 123 reg doesn't support php for indexhibit and I just paid for my domain name! arghhh!

so just to confirm Vaska "can't you install indexhibit with a domain name with 123 reg"?

hello,

I have the same problem as ux:

I did ftp the archives to public/html, changed the persmissions and then wrote the whole thing correctly. http://www.miglerudaityte.lt/ndxz-studio/install.php and when I try to open it I get: Not Found The requested URL /ndxz-studio/install.php was not found on this server. I can see a .htaccess file and a index.html file on the public_html files.

maybe you have an idea what I could have done wrong?

thank you for your help in advance.

agaeawoods / 2010-09-25 05:27:43

Hi,

You need to install the individual folders, 'files,' 'gims' and the 'ndxz-studio' into the ROOT area of your site. If you use fetch for example this is the MAIN WINDOW that comes up when you open an FTP connection. If you just upload the ENTIRE indexhibit folder into the root that is wrong. Then you need to follow their instructions and change the permissions:

Find the 'files' and 'gimgs' folders and change their permissions to 777 (the gimgs folder is inside of the files folder). Inside the 'ndxz-studio' folder change the 'config' folder permissions as well to 777.

This should do the trick.

Hi,

Ok. Now I've been fiddling around for too long. I am in need of some assistance. I have the same problem as some other people here, which is that I think I've done everything right but when I try the php install thing it doesnt work. I just get a "The requested URL /ndxz-studio/install.php was not found on this server." message plus an additional 404 one. So something must be fundamentally wrong somewhere. I would love to get someone to help me here a bit, maybe try this link and see if you can get anything out of it: http://www.henrikjosefsson.com/ndxz-studio/install.php

Cheers

arsondpi / 2010-11-17 21:55:51

Verify that you uploaded the contents of the indexhibit folder to your root folder - if you don't know which is your root folder, ask your host...

moshr00m / 2010-11-18 09:45:05

same problem.
solution:
i put the name of the folder in wich dnx....studio is, mine was the original indexhibitv070e

so the url goes h...//www.yourpage.com/indexhibitv070e/ndx....php

good luck

arsondpi / 2012-11-10 23:38:54

this is not relavent to the thread, but anyhow - you can use the password reset script found in the Plugins section (indexhibit.org/plugin/)

This thread has been closed, thank you.
