Background Image won't change

Hi. I've been trying to put together my website (www.patrickkattner.com), and I'm trying to change the background image of the site. I know you do that under the edit Main section, but every time I delete the image and upload a new one, indexhibit just reverts it back to the first image I ever uploaded. This is my first attempt at web design so I'm sure I'm not doing something right.

How can I get indexhibit to actually upload the image I want rather than reverting back to the initial image?

mine is www.emblembooks.com
but i've deleted the original background image
as i was unable to update the new one.
(it kept reverting to the first uploaded background image, even though i had deleted it.)
also tried uploading other new background images but had the same result.

well... nothing to see = nothing to say
except an obvious question: did you refresh your page view after you've placed the new image?

i did. but funnily enough it is now working okay.
previously when i would upload a new image, the old image would remain in the preview and would show on the website.

now it is working as it should ... it kind of fixed itself!

thanks for your responses rickykappa.

ciao

Yes i used to encounter the same problem too. Although it works fine after sometimes (which you won't know when), it will happen again in future when you want to change the background, like right now for me.

Even if i've deleted the old image to be replaced in my server directory, but it will still be there and keeps revert back everytime i upload any other image.

Is there any way to actually fix this? Sharing would be greatly appreciated!

It is really frustrating especially when i need to tweak the background.

1_background.png is your actual background. if you take it off and save changes and refresh your browser page isn't it working?

Having the same problem here... for most it seems to resolve magically-
all other exhibits are perfectly modifiable, i can upload new pictures and whatnot, just the background image thats giving the problem in which it always reverts back to the old image. (i tried the shift-refresh thing)
any other tips or suggestions other than trying again later?
thanks a ton in advance

hi max, I'm not sure to understand what the problem is, but I'm sure you must erase all the
<html><body></body></html>
tags you wrote yourself.
take a look at your page source and you'll see that those tags are obviously already there!
maybe that is causing your problem?

Hi Ricky, thanks for getting back- im sure the tags seem silly! but i was under the impression that they were spacing out my menu bar... (i have no idea about code tho, the tags you saw are about the extent of my knowledge.) Anyhow, removing them didnt seem to enable me to replace my background image on my "home" page- the page at www.maxstolkin.com.

my problem is that, on "home," whenever i try to replace the background image- the dual, split pictures- with something else, indexhibit always reverts it back to the above described image! i dno what im missing! it seems others have had the problem too... again, thanks a ton ricky- this place is really amazing due to folks like yourself

Hmm, I always have this problem too: when I try to change the '1_background' image, I delete the old one = page blank, but when I upload the new one the old one appears, Lazarus-like from it's digital grave. If I view the '1_background' image in FileZilla I get the new one, as you would expect, but if I enter the URL of the image into Firefox, the original image appears. I've tried shift+refresh.

Eventually, it changes, but very frustrating for the interim.
