Oh yes, I see. I've been playing with adding white jpegs (say, 100px wide) to my horizontal exhibits to vary the spacing. I think that's the only way to do it, if I want to use indexhibit's image uploader.
Here, for example - a 200px wide, white image (actually a gif, not a jpeg).
yes, if you want to vary that space between photos (but why?) that's another way to get the same result. Actually I believe your solution is better for downloading time, besides you could even customize the gif, writing captions, adding lines or whatever you like
Why? To group sets of photos in a single horizontal exhibit. (It doesn't work well in my example, but I can see that it might have uses.)
(The spacer gif in my example is 200px wide x 600px high. Of course, it only needs to be 1px high.)
