I was just simply creating the tabs to the exhibits and now the links point to the general "Internal Server Error" page.
Anyone know where I went wrong?

check your .htaccess file and make sure that you have apache mod re-write available and enabled.
if not you'll have to go without the fancy urls.
okay, tried it and tried to undo my "clean up the URLS" steps as well and no go. Links are still not working. Any other advice? I've barely done anything to the site except try and make the exhibits and add 2 .jpg files.

Your urls are still "clean" - you'd need to find the access file and remove the . (dot) before its name.
Ok, so I actually ended up downloading all the files for the site onto my desktop, deleting the folder on the FTP, and then re-uploading the files again. Works now! I replaced the htpaccess file with the original one as well even though I tried replacing that exclusively and initially.
Congrats! Now the real fun can begin.
