HI is seems like everything worked so far, but when I click: view your site I still see the generic page: your website coming soon...is it a host problem or do I need to reload everything again? Thanks so much!

You must have an index.html from your host in the root folder.
delete it.

I'm having the same problem. I've installed everything and am editing my site, but when I click "View Your Site" or when I try to preview the main page, I can't see my site. Instead I see my generic Host page.

I tried your advice and found an "index.html" file in what I think was my root folder (the folder is called "www"). I deleted it, but I still can't see my site.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Works fine for me. Now you have a browser cache issue (which isn't caused by Indexhibit). Simply refresh the page and hold down the shift key.

Amazing! This is great. Thanks so much dudes.

There is one other little snag I'm having trouble figuring out. The first section in my list (called "About") is appearing as a link, when in fact, it shouldn't be one. If you click on it, it just goes to a "server not found" page. Is there a way for me to make it stop pretending to be a link?

I'm also having trouble viewing my site.
I installed indexhibit in a subdirectory
www.epicworlds.com/jonnokatz

I want to work on it until it's ready to publish and keep my old site up until then.
I tried deleting index.html in my root directory and it didn't work.

Can anyone give me any tips?

I also can't view my site. I read through all the other topics pertaining to installations, but I'm pretty sure I did everything right. I found the index.html, but wasn't able to delete it. (Also, I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the statistics of my site and is otherwise unrelated.)

I did find a welcome.html that came with the space and deleted that, so now instead of going back to the host page, clicking "View my page" now shows"Page not found" in lieu of the generic host page. I'm not really sure what to do at this point.

This is my site (supposedly) :(

I am also having trouble viewing my site. After install went fine when i clicked 'view my site' it would go to the generic web hosting page. So I deleted the index.html file in my root folder and now i get a "Index of/" on my homepage. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You deleted the index.php file in your root folder. Reupload/replace from a fresh indexhibit download...

@rosie - the link you provided goes to a subdirectory (NckLL) > http://www.rosieli.com/NckLL/
while http://www.rosieli.com works well and your indexhibit site is there ;-)

Having same problem. According to my host, my "root" is '/public_html/'. If I move 'index.php' out of the 'ndxz-stuido' folder and put it by itself in '/public_html/' then I can view the 'index.php'. However, I don't see any other pages? Did I install all files in the wrong folder to begin with?

Yes, you have probably installed wrong...but since we don't know what your site is what else can we say?

Host is saying to remove all the files from the 'ndxz-studio' folder and put them directly into '/public_html/'. If I only move index.php I can see my home page but don't think any sub pages are available.

Got it. Seems I had to FTP each file individually (rather than select all) to get the index.php in the root correctly. Thanks

Hey! I can only see my website by typing the /indexhibitv070e/ after my website url (www.paulinemagnenat.com)
Can anyone help? What should I do in order to "remove" that /indexhibitv070e/ part?

Best
Pauline
