Section sections: dead end?

Dear Indexhibit users and developers,

over the past couple of days I managed to succesfully install and customise indexhibit my installation, which can be seen here.
I installed the columner theme, which I think is a very nice mod. (I'll be waiting for that fixed width version, although I might give it a shot myself)
I installed the linkskursiv/muller plugin and even managed to edit the php code to show text on the left rather than to the right of the slideshow, with a lot of help from several posts in the forum. (resulting in a minor bug that I'll describe in a different post)
The tiny news plugin is also running like a fiddle, I haven't noticed any of it's reported bugginess.
I'm very pleased with this elegant and highly customisable cms, but the one thing I didn't manage to adjust to my needs has even been described in a tutorial by Vaska: creating "Section sections". It must be a very simple and logical step, but I just don't get it, I've been shifting around exhibits and sections for hours to no avail.
How do I "create a page in my 'root' section", as decribed in the tutorial? I must be missing something, even after searching the forum. My goal is to make three section titles in my menu link to three top-level pages directly. The way I handeld it now is by hiding the section titles which puts the one underlying page on top, resulting in longer url's and styling problems. (after this has been fixed I'll start styling the site).
A hint in the right direction is highly appreciated, cheers from NL.

(this was also posted in "Installations", twice, those posts can be removed)

It's not so hard...it's just kind of a logic puzzle.

Let's say you have a section that you have titled "Photography".

In the root/main section of your site create a new page and call it "Photography". It must be created in the root/main section so when it's published the url will be /photography/.

Now, this page lives in the root/main section but you can simply drag it to the Photography section or wherever it needs to live on your site.

On many occasions, I have created section section pages in the root/main section and then used these as a base to generate more complex navigation structures.

Dear Vaska,

thank you for that quick reply,
I managed to create pages in my Root section, publish them from there and move them to another section, so that part worked out.
What I didn't succeed to do yet is to turn a Section title in the menu into a link to the thus created "top level" page.
How is this accomplished?
I'm a bit reluctant to ask because many people apparently managed to pull this off before me, as I noticed browsing random Indexhibit websites.

It's accomplished with a custom navigation.

I think I've got you Vaska, I thought active section titles in the menu would result from creating "section sections"automatically. (this would be a great feature I must say)

I'll be working on that custom navigation.
Thank you.

It's coming in the future...don't ask me when.
