Hi
I know that this may sound stupid, but I want to be able to remove the text "about this site" does anyone know how or where I can do this?

Go into Settings. Set Advanced Mode to 'on', then click 'update.' In the Pre Nav Text section, remove the following code:

< a href='< %baseurl%>
< plug:ndxz_rewriter url='/about-this-site/' />
'>About This Site
< /a>

Then 'update.'

If you want the title of your exhibition to remain, then leave this code in place:

< %obj_name%>

Don't forget to make sure that a link back to Indexhibit is still on your site someplace.

Thanks for the clarification, Ceeb-
if there isn't a visible link, you can't be in the participants list, and we won't help you in the forum, and you'll have bad internet karma lasting for a long long time. A Long Time.

From the download page:

In exchange for use of this software for free, you are required to provide a link back to Indexhibit on your website (like "Built with Indexhibit"). Failure to do will result in our lack of ability to provide any help via the forum or place your site on the participants list.

I am having the same problem, but when I delete out the pre nav txt and press 'update' I am sent back to my home page and nothing is saved?

Does anyone know the answer- I been trying to figure it out for a while now. Thanks

It's clear your server has issues...there is really nothing much we can do for this.

Can you advise on a good server I should go to? Thanks

Look in the useful theads post...that's all we can say on the topic. Otherwise, ask your friends and keep the stated system requirements in mind.

Zoo the same thing just happened to me. I deleted that bit of pre-nav text a while ago, and everything was fine. Now all of a sudden whenever I update my settings page, the "about this page" plugin comes back. i don't get it. I'm using 1&1 hosting. it worked fine a few minutes ago....

It's a reset quirk with indexhibit...it wants something in that space. Just put a blank space in there.

Hi - I had issues removing this portion, and then pasted the above code back in

"< a href='< %baseurl%>
< plug:ndxz_rewriter url='/about-this-site/' />
'>About This Site
< /a>"

but now it actually appears on the page as text, rather than functioning as html code. Any thoughts?

thanks!

What are you trying to do? All you did was break the code by adding spaces in things - that won't make it disappear.

Well, if you remove everything you remove your name as well.

You could delete everything and put in a blank space...
