Neil,

It just means to go to that URL using your browser. For example, if your website is http://neilpreston.com, you would want to type:

http://neilpreston.com/ndxz-studio/install.php

Once you are there, it will ask you to select a language and then enter in your database details.

May I ask what you are using to set the permissions? Is it an FTP application or through your server's administration panel?

A common mistake is uploading the whole folder of indexhibit instead of its contents. The page where you should go to, in Ceeb's example, would be:

http://neilpreston.com/indexhibitv070d/ndxz-studio/install.php

What you ned to do is get the files out of the indexhibit folder and into the root folder.

As for your problem setting the permissions, it's probably better you do it with an FTP application. On the other hand, some hosts don't allow you to change permissions. you need to ask your hosting service about that.

yeh im using filezilla.

i made a folder called indexhibit with all the files downloaded from here and dropped it in the wwwroot file of my site. is that right?

as for the permissions still cant figure it out. my host is mrsite, has anyone managed to do this with them?

For the permissions, you should ask mrsite if you're allowed to do that.

for the install.php, you should find it in your website.com/indexhibit/ndxz-studio/install.php

if you want to find your website at your root, then you need to take them out of the folder you made.

elosia.

thank you for your help.

ive sent an email to mrsite.

as for the rest of what you said, i dont know what that means.

i thought i had to type that in my browser.

how do i know if ive download the stuff and put it in my root file correctly?

thank you, neil

i have the file called 'files' in my root folder which i presume is the on i have to change the permissions on.

there is no permissions button however.
so i press 'ctrl' and click on it and it says file attributes.

theres a number there saying 666, am i in the right place?

yes, you are in the right place. If it reverts to 666 after you change it to 777, you need to contact your host.

However, you can still install indexhibit. The only problem is you will not be able to upload images.
