Just done a markup validation on my site and I'm seeing the "3" in my header but I cant find it within any of my indexhibit files on my server, Any ideas?

Somewhere in your files you have added a 3 character to a place it should be not be - there are many places you could look but you really need to figure out where you did this. Start with your template...the exhbition formats...css files...etc...
