Hi -

I'm using my indexhibit page for my photography, but when I load the pictures they are all faded compared to the versions on my computer and flickr account. I've resized them to the correct measurements that they are displayed as on my site and the correct dpi but it hasn't helped.

How can I fix this?

My url is adamkremer.net and you can see the difference at flickr.com/photos/adamkremer

Thanks

There will be a small color shift. Flickr is a multi-million dollar setup that has the best of everything - very powerful servers. Your website is shared hosting and more or less only allows you to do the basics.

I'm hoping that in the future, on the better shared servers our there, Indexhibit will have better handling for the color shift but until then there is not much that we can do.

I believe I once read somebody around here mention saving the file without the color profile in it and it will help but I didn't understand what they really meant.

FWIW, on my computer (Safari and Firefox), your images have more saturation and contrast in Indexhibit.

Make sure:

- your monitor is calibarated properly
- your images are in the sRGB colorspace.

Experiment saving the jpegs with and without a profile.

check your files to make sure you have them in rgb mode not cmyk mode. in photoshop.

If they are cmyk tifs and you save them as jpg it does not change the color mode.

Sounds like a colour profile issue to me.
