I've been having a few problems with permissions, every time i try to change/add anything in settings i keep getting a forbidden message. I've tried changing all the necessary folders but no luck, i've re installed indexhibit and spoken to my host but still keep getting the same problem?
Any ideas?

Thank you in advance

You need to be careful here - if you get things wrong you will make all kinds of chaos.

Make all Indexhibit folders 0755.
Make your 'files' and 'gimgs' folders 0777.
Make all the files in both of these folders 0777.
Make all the system files 0644 - including the root index.php.

Hi I have the 403 Forbidden message too, I install perfectly the indexhibit but when I deleted the other site I cannot publish Indexhibit, the other content was made with the sitebuilder from my domain.com account. What can I do, Do i have to reinstall? It looks like when I deleted the other site index.php is not taking the Indexhibit index as frontpage. My site it www.fhnkn.com

Wait for your answer

@dan: I don't know. Seriously messed up permissions is a mess. I hope it works if you reinstall...

@chay: I don't know what you have done. You should ask your host to sort this out for you...it's not an Indexhibit issue.

I see the same old site...you didn't reinstall.

As I said before, if you mess up the permissions it's a mess. I really don't know what's going on here...

Scrap everything...ask your host to make sure everything is reset...and then try again.

Ok, thanks for your help.
I deleted all indexhibit files, downloaded again and put them in my ftp. Is this not how to re install?

That's not a full reinstall...you have to delete the contents of the database - your host provides the tools for doing that. There are threads around here about how to reinstall...
