Frequently Asked Questions

My password doesn't work...

Your website is 100% independent from ours. We can not reset your password. However, in the plugins section you can find Password Reset Scripts and instructions that can be of use.

Consistency...Review your work...

Review your work before you are done. Become familiar with the various options and only use the ones that make sense for your work. Use those options consistently allowing users to become accustomed to your site and spend less time trying to figure out the interface from exhibit to exhibit.

How do I turn on mobile indexhibit...

As of Indexhibit v2.1, a mobile (adaptive) theme is included with Indexhibit. Look for the "Mobile-ready" plugin and simply enable it. Make sure you have the mobile theme folder installed in /ndxzsite, too.

My exhibit format isn't doing as expecting (margins, spacing, etc)...

Many exhibit formats have additional options that may need to be enabled/adjusted. Go to Admin > Formats of your Indexhibit Studio and you will likely find options for your particular format.

I want different thumbnails...

When you are editing your exhibit you can change size and shape of thumbnails in the Exhibit Options panel.

How can I upload bigger images...

Indexhibit restricts the size of images you can upload to your site because many webhosts have issues with large images. However, you can adjust this limit by editing options in /ndxzsite/config/options.php with a text editor or with version 2.1 and greater you can do so via the Change Maxsize plugin.

How can I upload bigger movies...

The easiest way to do this is by utilizing Youtube or Vimeo and then placing the movie in your exhibit (you'll need to enable them in plugins first though).

Or, you can upload the movies to your site via FTP and embed them with traditional html. It's certainly more work this way.

How do I edit my theme...

You can add a logo (with html) and/or edit your name in Admin > Theme. Be sure you upload the logo to your site in some fashion (the easiest way to do this is upload it to an unpublished exhibit and them grab the code from there).

Editing themes requires FTP and a text editor. And certainly some knowledge of CSS. There are notes in the style.css for your theme that are hopefully useful.

Learning the basics of FTP, html and CSS will take you very far - much further than Indexhibit some day.

How do I edit the mobile theme...

The same way you edit a standard theme. But, you are looking specifically for the "mobile" theme folder.

Who can I hire...

Most things really do not require hiring somebody. If you search the forum you are likely to find the answer to neary all questions.

If you have a substantial project you can contact Vaska - seriously inquiries only. No installations, no fixing password problems, no editing link colors, etc.
