upgrade made my SEO drop

Hi, I upgraded two days ago and according to my statistics have gotten 0 hits since. I averaged about 15-40 before upgrading and was the top hit on Google when you searched "Nick Carter artist" and I'm nowhere. What happened?? My site works.

I did the URL cleanup as a part of the upgrade process, could that have affected things?

Google might need to crawl/analyze your site again if urls have changed.
I think you can re-initiate this, from google analytics...

Thank you, so I did that and everything looks fine on that end. My 1.0 'Statistics' page and my new 2.0 'Statistics' page both say I've had 0 hits since upgrading... The 2.0 page has absolutely no info, this is from the 1.0 page:

This Week    Total    Unique    Refers
Today    0    0    0
Yesterday    0    0    0
2 days ago    0    0    0
3 days ago    0    0    0
4 days ago    34    15    2

Also, likely unrelated: I can't delete the "ongoing" projects section even though it doesn't have any pages in it.

I figured out the "ongoing" thing, ignore that red herring.

I'm not sure I understand - did you manage to get your SEO done?

nhc987 / 2013-03-16 19:26:42

What should I be looking for in the Webmaster Tools?

Why would my statistics (nickcarter.us/ndxzstudio/) show 0 page visits? It's been 4 days since I upgraded to 2.0.

Thank you!

As for the webmaster tools you should search how to get google to crawl your site again.

Statistics are not SEO. You simply need to get your statistics working again (see above post).

nhc987 / 2013-03-17 21:44:35

The above post doesn't seem to have any directions about getting "statistics working again," it's about merging accounts. I can sign in separately to my ndxz-studio and ndxzstudio accounts (is this supposed to be the case?) but neither one is showing hits that I know are occurring on the site (and are reflected on my Google Analytics account).

Is it normal for an Indexhibit website to drop down several pages in a Google search result (for going on 6 days now) immediately following upgrade from 1.0 to 2.0? If I knew this would happen I wouldn't have upgraded.

But we don't control Google indexing. Your site likely dropped in their ranking even before you upgraded. There is nothing fundamentally different that would change that - unless you made more complex changes to your site.

Your statistics not working doesn't have anything at all to do with Google - you simply need to change some permissions to get the /ndxzsite/plugin/ajax.php facility working again.

At this point, you should be looking into Google webmaster tools and site indexing to try to improve things - again, we don't control what Google does with your Pagerank (and know that they are constantly tweaking how it works). Your site validates perfectly, as well.

Which permissions might have been messed up by the upgrade? I haven't found any that are not 755 or 644.

Also, I just started my first new exhibit since upgrading and I'm getting an "Error, file is too big" when I try to upload new images, even images less than 1 MB. Any idea what I can do to fix this?

Figured out the statistics question - just had to enable the Statistics plugin in the Admin>Plugins.

Any ideas about the file-too-big question?
Thanks yall.
