Upgrading problems

jaredladia / 2012-05-31 00:22:54

I am now on the 'Updating themes and exhibit formats for Indexhibit 2' page: Where are we updating from? Which index?

Vaska A / 2012-05-31 00:52:21

From /ndxz-studio/ - the old site.

jaredladia / 2012-05-31 00:54:36

I am changing things but nothing is happening. Things do change though when I do it from the /ndxzsite/default/index.php.

Vaska A / 2012-05-31 00:57:19

Well, you need to make the changes and move them to new Indexhibit. Sorry if that part was confusing...

Hi,
I'm trying to upgrade my site to version 2:
- there's no /ndxzstudio/cache/ folder. (/cache folder is in /ndxzsite folder)
- after Database update I don't find /ndxzsite/config/config.php (there's only a config.example.php file).

My site (albertopetro.com) doesn't work at all; maybe it's because I have to update templates/formats, but I don't think so.
I don't know what to do, it's not clear the updating tutorial.
At last, how can I downgrade the site, in the meantime?
thank you

@album: replace back the old index.php at the root from your backup

pernin / 2012-05-31 12:52:36

@jaredladia: same answer as above, probably... try replacing the index.php at the root with your old version's root index.php

thank you Pernin,
I've already done it, but there still are some troubles and I'm stuck.
any other ideas?
thanks!

it looks like the old indexhibit missing the main page. Did you do a backup/export of your database before upgrading? In that case, you should restore the old database

jaredladia / 2012-06-01 15:32:09

im pretty sure i put the old index.php back in. still not working. i think once i get some more money, im just going to completely start over with indexhibit 2. still dont know whats wrong with my old site though.

pernin / 2012-06-01 15:37:25

reupload both the root index.php and htaccess for that version of indexhibt (070 or 073). I see that you have a login screen, and if you have re-imported your databse, the n this is the last thing that's missing

jaredladia / 2012-06-01 15:45:19

where do i find the 073 version

pernin / 2012-06-01 15:49:43

you backed up your site before upgrading? that's what you have to reupload

jaredladia / 2012-06-01 16:18:27

i saw you posted the root index foe 70 on the other forum thread, can you post the 73 one?

Vaska A / 2012-06-01 16:20:27

Shoot, I'm making an archive for the old stuff...need to finish. Sorry about that...

pernin / 2012-06-01 16:26:05

sorry, I don't have that version in the original, only my own customized version. But it should appear here in the forum in some form soon.

But I repeat, didn't you make a backup before upgrading? you should use that

jaredladia / 2012-06-01 16:32:01

yea i did but i think i might have replaced the index, i dont know which one is which now, i tried putting that one from 70 up but that didnt work either

Vaska A / 2012-06-01 16:39:38

pernin / 2012-06-01 16:41:44

if it's just the root index, then it should be this one:

jaredladia / 2012-06-01 16:43:26

was there suppose to be a link pernin?

pernin / 2012-06-01 16:45:24

jaredladia / 2012-06-01 16:51:41

jaredladia / 2012-06-01 19:18:06
