Problem with colors of pictures after the upgrade

ManonL / 2013-04-08 13:18:04

Hi!

I have just upgraded the website of my friend dunevarela.com and I don't understand why all pictures seem to be a little grey, like if they were in CMJN (but they are not).

When I upload a new picture on the website, even in RVB with the right colors, it appears grey again on my screen.

Does someone know what could be the problem with my upgrade?

All the best from Paris,
Manon

I'm not entirely sure what you mean.
Do the colours appear to be washed out?

Yes, exactly!

For example, in Google Image, we still can see the normal version of one of the picture here :

google.fr/…

And on the new website, see the same picture in the number 4 of this section :

dunevarela.com/index.php/projects/impalas-lycaons-et-autres-paysages/

Currently Indexhibit used a graphics library called GD Library.
Apparently this sometimes causes hue shifts like the one you mentioned.

In the upcoming version Indexhibit is going to incorporate one more graphics library, Imagick, which is going to solve issues like this.

Dear Arsondpi,

Indeed I just tried to charge another Dune's picture on a website I opened two days ago for a friend photographer and it is the same problem. So it is not a problem with the upgrade, but with the new version of Indexhibit.

So we will have to saturate more our pictures for them to seem ok on our websites...

Do you know when would come the new version you are talking about?

Best,
Manon

It's not the new version of indexhibit.
It's a php library for images...

So I can't do anything?

You can wait - it doesn't have to do with Indexhibit though, I repeat. It's server technology.
