"Error Empty file upload result"

jfreydkis / 2012-06-05 17:13:55

I keep triggering this error with the image uploader and I can't seem to figure out why. Any ideas on a solution?

I've never seen that error before - is something not right with your image?

jfreydkis / 2012-06-05 17:55:53

I'm not sure? It seems like a normal .jpg to me.

it may be a corrupted or in some way 'wrong' jpg. upload that image directly with ftp, for example to files, and call it up directly from the browser's navigation bar: see if the browser is able to display it

I had that exact same problem and it turned out to be that my files were .jpeg instead of .jpg.

Hope that helps!

For Indexhibit 2 this didn't work? jpeg does work...hmm...

fedezz / 2012-06-06 12:37:11

I tried uploading a .jpeg and didn't get a filetype error like in previous versions, but after uploading I get an empty thumbnail and the image isn't displayed. Changed the extension to .jpg and it worked like a charm. If it's any help, .jpeg files got uploaded to /files instead of /files/gimgs

Ok, thanks for the report. I'll add it to my list of things to look into...

Hi Vaska,

I'd like to add that i am getting the same error message.. I had no trouble loading these files two weeks ago, but uploading them again is giving me the same problem. Initially, I thought it was a default image size issue after changing the default in options.php, but that hasnt fixed it. Any other suggestions. Files are jpg files saved from photoshop.

Thanks

Are you completely sure the images are correct - rgb, flattened, true jpg, etc?

Try a small file that has worked in the past and see what happens. It worked before...something was changed now...

Also having this issue.

This thread is about Indexhibit version 2 - since you haven't purchased/requested it I believe you are in the wrong thread.

Hi I still have the same problem, changed options.php, the size is now good. it's in .jpg not .jpeg extension. Any update about this problem?

I uploaded the pictures in the /files folder but I have no idea how to add them now to my sections? otherwise still have the erros issue
pls help:)

zsemberi / 2012-10-06 20:34:13

If I upload a very small file (64kb) than it has no problem, but as I mentioned I changed the options.php to a bigger image size.

???

...are your permissions correct?
...have you asked your host if there's server restrictions?

zsemberi / 2012-10-07 08:43:21

yes and yes:)

zsemberi / 2012-10-07 08:44:34

If I uploaded the pictures in /files where are they? Cant see them when trying to customize...

arsondpi / 2012-10-07 09:05:55

...I assume that you're trying to upload the images from indexhibits backend (and not via ftp)... right?

zsemberi / 2012-10-07 09:26:25

yes, but as said in this thread this error goes away if I upload via ftp to the /files folder, but I have no idea where they are now and how to put them to the place

zsemberi / 2012-10-07 11:18:46

Update: some files do upload some still have the error. Though all the pic files where exported with the same parameters and same software (lightroom)

Still no idea?

Put it in .gif and that solved the problem.
