not solved yet... style.css and permissions

rosaegg / 2012-08-10 12:44:06

i cant edit the style.css because it says that i should change the permissions first... so i changed the permissions from studio-asset-css-style.css to 777, but it doesnt work yet... does anyone know what i`m doing wrong?

i have the same problem.. in the Theme menu the only option is the default and in my assets there is no style.css. i have changed permissions to 777 but how to access the style sheet?

basically the style.css file isn't appearing in the assets section. any reason for this? don't feel like i had this problem before

I don't know why it's not appearring in Assets...
You can always check and edit files with you ftp application and a code editor.

yeah it's odd.. any other ideas about why it wouldn't appear in the indexhibit back-end? would be nice to have as it's more convenient making changes

i've only got these in the Template (default) list :
base.css
ie.css
index.php
media.php
reset.css
tag.php
error.php

forgive me if i'm being stupid

Because it's not there?
Because the permissions are not right?

If the other things show up, then it's working - one of the two is wrong.

Or, your host had mod_security doing it's stupid stuff and you need to ask them to resolve it.

Hmm it's weird, I've not had this before. Changed the permissions on the entire Assets folder to 777 but nothing changes.
I'll contact the host and try to work it out.

Why the assets folder? That is not something that is even editable from the CMS. The editable parts are in the ndxzsite folder.

simonjmp / 2013-04-22 19:29:09

yeah i just changed the permissions of the entire folder (probably a dumb move), however asset>css>style.css was also changed first to 777 to no avail. hmm, that's all in the ndxzstudio folder tho :/ should there be a style.css in the Default folder in ndxzsite?

i just spoke with someone from justhost but they had no idea what it could be

Ask them about mod_security.

If the file is there, with proper permissions, and nothing else is wrong, and because all the other files are there, it will appear.

Otherwise, simply use an FTP and text editor to edit the file.
