Indexhibit Support

Hello,

I'd like to show a thumbnail of all the sections on my homepage as the visual index exhibit format allows. Exept I'd like to hide hidden sections.
I've tried searching for the answer, and apparently this was allowed in older versions but not the current one if I'm correct?

Anyway I'd like some advice if anyone can help me with this, thanks in advance.

You hide sections in Admin > Sections > section

I had already hidden the section I want to hide this way, however it still shows up in the visual index, is there something I have done wrong?

I want to hide the 'about' section, so that's the last illustration in the visual index.

(There is an about button in the index but I made that using the post-nav text so it can have an icon.)

Can someone please help? I've been searching low and high for the answer to my problem, I can't seem to figure it out.

I don't see an about section is the index. I do see the about link with the icon* and the about thumbnail. Isn't that what you're after?

* you can use css to attach images to index links or replace them with images.

Thats right, but I want to hide the illustration that is on the about page from the visual index on the home page.

Your site structure is odd in a way.
I would have a section called Main (or whatever) and I would have exhibits (and not sections) in it with all my works. "Main" would be set with the Visual index and Section as the Media Source.
A separate section (or an exhibit in it) called About wouldn't then be visible to the visual index of your main page.

If I do that is there a way I can show only the exhibits under 'main' and not the 'main' page itself in the index so the index wouldnt look any different than it does now?

Switch Hide from Index to On and set Make main page to On (from page options) for your main page with the Visual Index.
I don't know what you mean by different looks. Try it out first and then you may need to do some further css adjustments or something.
