A friend and I were recently trying to make a few simple code changes to the home page of my website. Something happened though and now the width of paragraphs appear on my site with an extremely narrow margin. Also, there is no space anymore between photos in the horizontal format.

Which line of code could these problems potentially have come from?

What did you change? Look for #img-container p in your style.css file. But, you could have easily made changes that effect this in many other ways - so knowing what you changed is the easiest way to go.
Otherwise, simply reupload a fresh, unedited, style.css file and start again.

The files that we looked at were style.css and slideshow.css. I've reuploaded fresh style.css and slideshow.css files via my FTP but nothing has changed. Still no spacing between photos in horizontal format and narrow margin issues with text.
I'm sort of stumped at this point..
Nevermind!! I fixed the issue! Somehow all of my spacing customizations for the horizontal format had been turned down to zero...
