Plugin: Archives (Hidden)

Vaska A / 2007-07-15 13:31:14

What does it do?
This is a plugin to create hidden archive pages that appear only via an 'Archive' type link. It produces a simple list or page titles that are ordered according to the way you sort them in the cms.

How does it work?
Similar to the Simple News plugin, the archives plugin takes any hidden pages from a particular section and displays them via a single page (where the plugin is used).

It is recommended that you create special archives section (or something similar) before you use this plugin. When you add pages too this section, be sure that you make them 'hidden from index' (see Additional Settings on the edit page) so they will be hidden from the Index and appear on this page.

Download, unzip and place the plugin in your /ndxz_studio/site/plugin folder.

On the page where you would like your archives list to appear, use this code:

number: refers to the section id. You can get this number by referring to the sections tools in Settings.

Let's hope nobody deletes this out. ;)

Is there a way of adding a bullet point or similar to the start of each item on the archive list?

You could do it with CSS.

Hey, I am really interested in this plugin but the download link doesn't work. It just redirects me to http://www.indexhibit.org/downloads/

Any chance you could email me the plugin and / or a fresh link?

Thanks!

I've fixed the link in Vaska's post.
You could also have used the Download link in the menu on the left...

tabarez, I just spotted athread with similar question and hints, might be of some help:
http://www.indexhibit.org/forum/thread/6564/
I also have a question: where did you download the plugin from?

tabarez / 2010-01-21 08:24:03

hello rickykappa the link is (found it on google)
http://indexhibit.org/downloads/plugin.ndxz_archives.php.zip
I know about that thread, but anyway I found an alternative solution. I created an hidden section for each column...

rickykappa / 2010-01-21 09:56:41

hi tabarez
thanks for the information. I actually looked for it through google before asking you, and even tried to download it as you did, but might have mispelled the url...
to answer your question in a previous post, I didn't try yet, but I guess the code Vaska referes to is similar to that of the news plugin (let me try again to insert this damn code)

  1. <plug:ndxz_archives 8 />

rickykappa / 2010-01-21 10:02:25

it worked! :-)
what has to be done is to change the number (8 in my example) as Vaska explains in the first post of this thread.
another reference is a sort of howto I recently posted here

diazha / 2010-02-27 23:45:42
