Sliding boxes with j query

Hi,
Just an enquiry for anyone who has experience with this kind of thing.
I'm attempting to do a sliding box image with some images on my site (using this tutorial and example: http://buildinternet.com/2009/03/sliding-boxes-and-captions-with-jquery/ ) but am hitting a brick wall. I've incorporated the 1st part, the CSS in to my style.css file in my sample folder, but the rest of the code in the tutorial can be implemented through editing the indexhibit exhibition directly, can't it?
Or does the second part, the javascript need to be implemented in a seperate file in my website like the CSS as well? The only reason I ask is that I have tried it already with the image on the front page of my website but the sliding animation that is supposed to overlap it when hovered over does not actually work.

If anyone has any experience of using sliding boxes in indexhibit or can help me out anyway, it would be much appreciated.
Cheers,
Ben.

If anyone gets a spare minute could they have a look at the tutorial above and tell me how to implement the code into indexhibit? Sorry if it's basic stuff, but I would be eternally grateful if anyone could tell me. Thanks.

It's not basic stuff - it's quite complicated if you haven't done it before. I wouldn't even know where to begin to explain this aside from pointing you to look at existing exhibition formats and the tutorial for that effect and see if you can make sense of things.

Around here, if you want something new or custom you'll need to try. We can help if you make some progress with it.
