About sound files

Hello

I don't find many questions about sound, so please allow me to ask for general use...

I need to upload sound file (quite long around 5')

What is the best solution ?

I'd like to have the possibility for my exhibit to show that canvas :

Picture1
Sound 1
Picture2
Sound 2

etc...

Got any idea or advice to begin

Thanks

Upload it as any other media.
You can click and drag your media in the exhibit area to arrange the desired layout.

Thanks Arsondpi

I uploaded my file (a mp3) but it doesn't appear in any exhibit format ?

What I'm doing wrong ?

Insert the sound file by clicking edit (the tools icon below it) and click Insert file.
This should insert a

  1. <media:mp3 'filename.mp3', 'title' />

code in your text area.
Of course you can cut&paste this in an image title/caption or you can attach a cover image to it so it shows up in a sectional visual index.

Thanks

I did find that way following a previous post

indexhibit.org/forum/thread/16951/

When I insert the code, my file appears that's wright but I can't display it in a specific layout
(Picture1/sound1/picture2/sound2 and so on)

Can I ?

Sorry :
When I insert the code, my file appears that's right but I can't display it in a specific layout

What do you mean? Can you post a page with the issue?

Thanks

I don't want this to be too long online...

arsondpi / 2013-02-07 11:29:38

As I said you can paste the code in an image title or caption.
You can paste it nearly anywhere.

Sorry but I don't understand

When I insert file the code is written in my text area...

What do you mean to paste the code in an image title ?

arsondpi / 2013-02-07 11:51:39

"cut" the code from the text area and "paste" it in a title or caption box.

Thanks to give me some time, arsondpi

I did that but in my page it's written some strange codes characters...

I put it online if you want to have a look

I can't see something there...

plocploc / 2013-02-07 12:57:47

Sorry I thought it was published
It's now !

arsondpi / 2013-02-07 13:47:56

If you mean the title etc then this is the code that gets inserted if you give the sound a title.
If you noticed the sounds you inserted in the image title area work fine.

Call me stupid if you want but still don't understand

Please allow me to start again :

1/ I upload a sound (a mp3 file)
2/ I click the edit tools and then Insert files
3/ I cut the code now written in my text area and paste it ...

... Where ?

* In the image title of my sound file ? I tried nothing happens
* Somewhere else ?

arsondpi / 2013-02-07 14:30:37

In a text area or in the title text box of an image - for example.
So you get an image (could be a album cover) and the sound below it.

I thought it was possible to show an audio player ?

plocploc / 2013-02-07 14:38:02

Sorry
I forgot to thank you for your previous answer...
It still does odd things with me...

arsondpi / 2013-02-07 15:29:23

there's a play/pause button and a title. I don't understand what odd things are - can you be more specific?

plocploc / 2013-02-07 19:50:27

Sorry I didn't have a look on the forum

The page is now online. I've just done what you suggested... But there's some code written on the page which I don't know where to cut

Moreover, the minimalist player (play/pause button and the title) is not sufficient, according to me, to be seen...

Good Morning

I'm trying hard since dawn to finish this page with audio... But it's not working...

For the moment I'm trying the horizontal Format... I can see the pictures but the sound file don't show up... Even when I insert the code in the main text area...

Does anyone has an idea...

Sorry

The audio file are visible... As a title of the image...

Is there a way to customize this ? It's not really elegant and it's not easy to see...

I've tried bigger buttons (audio.css > change img/btn_play)... But it's not the good solution

This thread has been closed, thank you.
