I created som exhibits to learn how they work. Everything looks great in preview but on my actual web page none of the links seem to work.
What am I missing?

Common issue - if you searched the problem you would have seen alot of threads about the same thing.

You need to setup your .htaccess file to suit your server - there is a tutorial in Tutorials (Clean URL's) about this topic.

I've read the tutorial and I've followed the instructions and I've tried to change the .htaccess file
still not working!?
Not sure what to do next

I had both a .htaccess and a htaccess file
the .htaccess did not contain any of the rules described in the tutorial.

So I tried this. I copied the rules from the htaccess, to the .htaccess file. I added a / in front of the index.php and finally I threw away the htaccess file.

It seems to be working now, but was it a misstake to throw the file away or have I done everything the way it's supposed to be?

thanks!

If it works it works.

If you want clean url's then you need the .htaccess file. When you add the . it makes it invisible - your FTP app likely has a toggle somewhere so it will show those files.

Happy to hear you are marching forward... ;)
